Winter’s Silhouette

Filed under: Uncategorized — laurenmaurerartworks @ 6:54 pm

Here’s a little  sneak peak of a series I’m working on~ This is a little 8×8 acrylic on canvas painting I did, which inspired me to start painting four 11×14 similar paintings, one for each season.

A free bird leaps on the back

Of the wind and floats downstream
Till the current ends and dips his wing
In the orange suns rays
And dares to claim the sky.
(exert from “I know why the caged bird sings” by Maya Angelou)

  2. Oh Lauren! Such emotion, such depth, such warm colors yet a cold feel to this. Complex and compelling! I'm looking forward to the rest of the series!
