Wishes on Dandelions….

I love to paint dandelions….
I don’t usually hear what a painting means to someone when I sell to them online. Sometimes at shows people will talk a little about what draws them to a particular painting of mine, and that is nice. There have been some times, however, when someone who has purchased a painting of mine will take the time to email me a thank you and a little bit of the story behind their purchase. One that stands out is a lady who bought a dandelion painting some time ago, because her mother’s nickname for her was “dandelion”. The reason being, no matter how many times she got “mowed down”, she always sprung back up again! I was glad to have painted something that reminded her of her mom without even knowing it, and it was really cool to hear her story.
I did two brand new dandelion paintings a couple of nights ago, with my favorite colors in the background.

  3. I love that story! I used to use the image of a dandelion on thank you notes to customers because it's such an interesting little flower, and it really makes a great subject to paint!
