Poppies, a lobster and baby Luke times two

Filed under: lobster, poppies, summer, watercolor and ink — laurenmaurerartworks @ 10:17 pm

As promised, poppies and a lobster. These are both 5×7 watercolor on cold press.
The poppies are for Michelle Burnette’s Following the Masters challenge blog. I have kept meaning to join in the fun but this is the first month that I’ve actually found the time to!
The lobster is just a fun little painting that I’ve been wanting to do. Lobsters remind me of when my dad lived in Maine, and going to visit my Grandma Marj, and yummy food, and summer…
I’m starting tonight on two more portraits of little baby Luke (one for each set of grandparents)! Wait until you see this little guy- he is too cute!

  8. Found your poppies over at Michelle Burnetts… wonderful! a really nice design and the flowing line works so well with the broad areas of brilliant color.
