DSDF – Love those shadows

Filed under: corn. watercolor and ink, dsdf, onion, summer, tomato — laurenmaurerartworks @ 3:25 pm

I was never a still life fan – but after seeing how several different artists and their unique style has made it look so good, I have learned to have a real appreciation for it! One of my favorite artists,R. Garriott does still lifes in a way that makes me really look at them in a whole new light. But still, I never took them on because I did not think my style was one that could pull it off.

So when the DSDF challenge was to paint this plate of summer veggies, I was really excited to give it a try. I looked at all the shapes together and took a look at those shadows and decided that watercolor and ink was the way to go.
