Pink Orchids

Filed under: botanical, flower, orchid, pink — laurenmaurerartworks @ 11:24 pm

Here is a fun little pink botanical painting. You can find it in my Etsy shop. It’s another watercolor and ink painting. I usually sketch in pencil first, then tape it down, then paint, then draw in my ink lines, then take off the tape. With this one I thought it would be fun to let the ink extend past the painted area, so I inked it in after I took it off the board.

  1. This is quite beautiful. i like your idea of extending the ink lines past the painted area. It stands out almost three dimensionally that way. I know this would look quite impressive up close and in person rather than through my screen, which is still excellent.Great work
